Responsibilities
Operate and monitor stationary equipment
Record temperature, pressure, water levels, and fuel consumption in logbooks
Read meters and gauges at scheduled intervals
Conduct routine inspections: oiling & lubricating equipment, tightening fittings, replacing gaskets, valves, and gauges
Assist with furnace and boiler maintenance and repair
Perform water titration testing and adding prescribed chemicals such as water softeners
Clean and maintain fire and water sides of fuel-burning equipment, pumps, screens, pipes, and gratings
Remove ashes and clinkers
Switch to backup equipment when necessary
Shut down equipment as directed
Report unsafe conditions
Qualification
Required
Experience as a Grade 3 Stationary Engineer
Ability to operate and monitor stationary equipment
Ability to record temperature, pressure, water levels, and fuel consumption in logbooks
