Director of Finance
True North Talent Partners is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee the financial health and strategy of skilled nursing operations. This role involves leadership in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, while managing a finance team to align financial goals with operational performance.

Responsibilities
Assists the CFO and other key finance management in developing and monitoring accounting policies and procedures
Consults and educates leaders on budget tracking and analysis
Compiles and analyzes past and current year data to identify and examine trends affecting budget needs
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making by the executive team
Directs the activities of the Accounting Department with emphasis on timely, accurate, and comprehensive support to the organization
Oversees the monthly creation of financial statements for individual centers, and the corporation overall. This includes reporting on the ongoing financial performance of the centers and Corporate Office relative to required and budgeted performance
Analyzes variances from the budget every month to ensure that transactions have been recorded in the proper period and account
Provides interpretation and implementation of accounting policy, and perspectives and effects on new accounting, fiscal, and regulatory policies
Supports the development and/or review of all internal controls, corporate policies, practices, and procedures covering accounting, auditing, banking, budgetary control, cash receipts and disbursements, credits and collections, methods and statistics, financing, payroll procedures, and insurance coverage in accordance with governmental laws and regulations
Oversees capital asset management recording of capital assets with complete and accurate record keeping of fixed asset additions, transfers, adjustments, and retirements on both a book and tax basis
Reconciles the capital asset sub-ledger to the general ledger, including reconciliation of depreciation, amortization, and gain/(loss) on disposition accounts
Responsible for maintaining, securing, reconciling and reporting on all bank accounts, including operational accounts at the centers and Amity
Assists with tax reporting and compliance, maintaining tax records supporting schedules
Directs the tax reporting and compliance function for Atrium’s employee benefit plans
Acts as a liaison with outside consultants for tax returns, cost reports, and other designated needs
Ensure financial practices comply with federal and state regulations, including CMS and GAAP standards
Assist with audits, cost reports, and financial portions of surveys and inspections
Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks
Oversee timely and acute processing of employee payroll
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage-and-hour laws
Manage payroll taxes, deductions and benefits allocations
Monitor AP function, ensuring accurate, timely and efficient processing of invoices and payments is completed by the AP team
Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to AP team
Lead and mentor the finance team, including the controller, accountants, accounts receivable, and payroll
Collaborate with operations, HR, and clinical teams to align financial goals with operational performance
Work closely with facility administrators to manage facility-level financial performance
Qualification
Required
Candidate MUST HAVE SKILLED NURSING FACILITY EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Must have 2-5 years of experience in Skilled Nursing Facility finance and accounting
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive financial leadership experience in healthcare
Deep understanding of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and long-term care financial regulations
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
