Responsibilities
Work on culturing mammalian cells, maintaining bioreactors, sampling bioreactors and/or work on protein chromatography, filtration, and UF/DF operations
Be involved in lab operations, organization and 5S initiatives
Design and execute experiments at the bench scale, spanning the end-to-end drug substance process, including both cell culture and purification operations
Apply established platform approaches and utilize problem-solving skills to rapidly solve day-to-day experimental challenges
Utilize out-of-the-box thinking to contribute to laboratory operations, especially various yellowbelt and 5S projects
Expand and develop skills in both cell culture and purification, thereby further contributing to the integrated group
Qualification
Required
Must have lab experience and at least one year working on similar projects
WEEKEND work requirement (1-2 weekend days a month for a total of 3-4 hours)
Bachelor's or master's degree
OR Associate degree and 4 years scientific experience
Mammalian cell culture and/or protein chromatography
Lab operations and 5S
Preferred
Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant sciences with a demonstrated record of excellence
Ability to identify, develop and implement solutions to practical problems through application of fundamental scientific and engineering principles, preferably in a process development environment
Basic understanding of protein chromatography, filtration or cell culture principles; hands-on experience with purification operations is a plus
Familiarity with 5S principles and organization of laboratory workspaces is a plus
Prior experience with data analytical tools (Excel, Spotfire, etc.) is preferred
Motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Team player with the ability to successfully work within a diverse team in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
