Responsibilities
Prepare complex federal, multi-state, and local tax returns (individual, trust, partnership, and S & C corporations)
Perform general ledger functions and month-end close activities
Calculate and prepare sales and use tax filings
Assist with audits, reviews, and compilations
Provide accounting and tax support across engagements
Support and train internal accounting staff and junior team members
Ensure timely, accurate work in accordance with firm standards
Collaborate with managers and partners on engagements and special projects
Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
3–7 years of public accounting and/or relevant industry accounting experience
Experience with business and individual income taxation
Experience using accounting and tax software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Professional judgment, discretion, and integrity
Preferred
Actively pursuing or held CPA license in Michigan
