Senior Payroll Manager
Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Payroll Manager for a prominent real estate organization. The role involves overseeing payroll operations, ensuring compliance with wage laws, and managing payroll staff while implementing software enhancements for efficiency.
Responsibilities
Hire, train, and supervise payroll staff, managing daily workflows and performance evaluations
Identify and implement software updates and procedural enhancements to create organizational efficiencies
Lead internal and external audits, including specialized Local 32BJ and NYC Union inquiries
Oversee timely processing of salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions
Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local wage/hour laws, including prevailing wage rules
Manage databases for salaries/bonuses, workman's compensation, and non-union building benefits
Audit and manage relationships with Local 32BJ, Union 272, and other NYC-based unions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, HR, or a related field
5-10 years of progressive payroll experience, with a proven track record in a leadership capacity
Advanced proficiency in ADP RFN and RFM payroll software is required
Strong familiarity with NYC Unions and HR requirements for non-union properties
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to solve complex compliance or system issues
