Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
Systems Engineering & Design
Engineer, design, and develop detailed system plans for fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, intercom, and integrated security platforms
Produce system architectures, network topology drawings, device layouts, control schematics, and technical documentation
Prepare programming templates, riser diagrams, sequence-of-operations, bills of materials, and proposal content
Sales Engineering Support
Support the sales team with pre-sales technical expertise, system scoping, site walk-throughs, and customer consultations
Evaluate customer needs and recommend compliant, high-performance system configurations
Assist with technical exhibits and solution design for complex or large-scale opportunities
System Programming & Configuration
Configure, test, and deploy SES components including servers, workstations, VMS platforms, access control systems, fire alarm panels, network infrastructure, and integrated applications
Perform in-house staging and full system testing prior to deployment
Program and commission:
Fire alarm systems
Access control systems
Video management systems
Networked security hardware and software
Onsite Deployment & Commissioning
Serve as the project’s technical expert during installation and commissioning
Conduct onsite verification, tuning, and system optimization to meet design expectations
Document all configuration modifications, ensure backups, and create accurate as-built documentation
Customer Support & Team Leadership
Provide advanced troubleshooting support to internal teams and customers
Deliver ongoing technical support, system upgrades, and optimization services
Mentor technicians and junior engineers on system configuration and best practices
Process & Quality Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows and standardize technical templates
Strengthen commissioning processes and quality control across projects
Contribute to consistent engineering methodology across the business
Qualification
Required
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in electronic security and life safety systems or a related technical or construction field and supervisory or managerial experience
Ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks, and manage these to final completion and customer turnover
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project)
Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s)
Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements
