Responsibilities

Interpret laws and other compliance obligations and advise Compliance, Business, Product, and Engineering teams on requirements
Provide legal advice on compliance programs and policies to help mitigate risk
Manage government and regulator discussions, negotiations, and disclosures on compliance readiness efforts

Required

JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience
Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located
7 years of experience with legal, regulatory, or corporate compliance, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk
7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm
Experience advising on global privacy and data protection laws

Preferred

Experience developing, advising, and evaluating programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments
Experience engaging with regulators, including State Attorneys General (AGs), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and global data protection authorities
Experience working with technology companies and ability to understand complex technical issues
Experience with managing projects and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to be action-oriented and seek to meet the highest standards of integrity
Excellent written and verbal communication, time management and investigative skills, and attention to detail
