Responsibilities

Develop and lead budgets for clinical research studies, ensuring alignment with various funding sources
Review study documentation to create budgets, Letters of Intent (LOIs), and amendments, while incorporating all relevant expenses
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather cost data and assess study feasibility
Negotiate budgets and payment terms with industry sponsors to secure funding and improve revenue
Ensure compliance with regulations and internal controls while maintaining detailed tracking of budget statuses
Analyze budget data for accuracy and trends, and present findings to management
Provide education and support on budgeting practices and compliance to research staff
Lead or participate in departmental projects and initiatives and provide interim coverage for Budget Managers as needed

Required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Clinical Research, Finance, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, four years of job-related experience is acceptable
2+ years in clinical research financial management, including budget development, Medicare coverage analysis, clinical trial agreements, invoicing, and fiscal management
Familiarity with clinical trial operations is crucial
Intermediate skills in budget development and negotiation, with a proven ability to advise investigators on sponsor and institutional budget policies
Advanced oral and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse partners, including clinical staff, administration, and external contacts
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data for reports, identifying trends through thorough data review
Sophisticated interpersonal skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and lead multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
