Senior Account Executive - Energy Solutions

Scalence L.L.C. is part of a Sustainable Infrastructure business unit, seeking a Senior Account Executive – Energy Solutions. The role involves selling large, complex energy solutions to high-potential customers, managing the full sales cycle, and building long-term client partnerships.

Responsibilities

Sell energy solutions and performance contracting to building owners and executives with confidence and minimal supervision
Demonstrate value at the executive level by addressing business and financial challenges
Sell, renew, and expand renewable multi‑year service agreements
Seek new customers by proactively targeting and initiating contact with prospects
Build a strong network of contacts and leverage checkpoints throughout the sales cycle to gain progressive commitments
Qualify and assess potential customers and refer leads internally when appropriate
Build strategic relationships with economic buyers, owners, and decision-makers
Manage the ongoing sales process, anticipate customer needs, and respond effectively
Demonstrate strong business and financial acumen to build trust and credibility
Address customers’ operational, financial, and environmental requirements and recommend appropriate solutions
Differentiate offerings based on business benefits and competitive insight
Maximize the use of project development engineering and other internal resources
Engage sales support teams such as construction services, engineering, financial, and legal resources
Lead and foster productive team relationships to maintain high customer satisfaction
Collaborate with systems and service teams to exceed customer expectations
Act as the customer advocate internally and set clear expectations regarding offerings and services
Ensure customers are properly trained and oriented to system operations or delivered services
Develop and present professional proposals and secure opportunities through financial agreements
Address customer resistance, negotiate value, and close deals effectively
Use CRM and sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, account planning tools, opportunity management systems) to track progress and increase business opportunities
Manage pipeline steps, complete action plans, and meet customer buying milestones
Assist in developing sales and marketing strategies for the team or area office
Support the implementation of strategic action plans
Target new customers based on vertical market strategies
Attend trade shows and participate in professional organizations
Keep management informed of account status and know when to escalate issues

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline
5–7 years of progressive field sales experience at the C‑level
Experience selling energy solutions or performance contracting
Strong initiative and excellent interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to influence key decision-makers
Ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred

MBA or advanced degree
