Cost Accountant

They are seeking a Cost Accountant who will be responsible for preparing and analyzing cost reports, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes related to inventory.

Responsibilities

Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory and expense information for various clients as needed for decision making support, especially quotes for sales
Analyzes changes in raw materials, manufacturing, logistics, labor to determine effects on costs
Analyzes actual production costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard to actual production costs
Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures
Prepares estimates of new and proposed clients. Being a key member working for quoting for our sales team
Recommends cost efficiencies in new product and clients
Provides management with reports specifying and factors affecting prices and profitability of products and machines
Develop and maintain standard costs of goods and production components in SAP
Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation
Lead and manage the quarterly/annual inventory review process
Perform month end close activities related to cost accounting
Other duties may be assigned, as needed or required

Required

Experience in Manufacturing of any type is VERY IMPORTANT
BA in Accounting Finance
2-4 years' experience in Accounting, Cost Accounting preferred
3+ years' experience with inventory
Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts
Extremely strong Excel skills, especially advanced modeling and analytical techniques
Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships with different areas of the corporation
Must have experience creating sales quotes, cost analyses and inventory
Background in Accounting and familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes
Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Proficient with Microsoft Excel (MUST)
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills

Preferred

Food industry experience a plus but not required
