Responsibilities

Program planning and development
Center operation and administration
Student teacher instruction
Parent communications
Program quality assurance
Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies
Service on assigned committees and task forces
Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings which may occur during evenings and weekends

Required

Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or an appropriately related field with two (2) or more years of experience in a related field; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties
Early childhood education, including classroom or laboratory instruction
Child care administration or business management
Supervision of human resources
Developing and managing operating budgets and plans
Incumbents must be fingerprinted through the Office of Early Childhood (OEC) and approved to work in an early care and education setting and have the CT Director's Credential or at least the approved OEC 3 credit course in administration & supervision of ECE programs

Preferred

Current knowledge and experience implementing the State of CT Child Care Center Regulations, NAEYC Early Learning Programs Accreditation Standards; planning curriculum using the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards, and CT DOTS
Experience developing marketing plans and managing budgets from different funding sources
Experience working within a laboratory school or supervising student teachers at placement sites
