Responsibilities
Design and develop 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks for custom, customer-specific products
Create manufacturable assemblies and subcomponents with consideration for function, cost, durability, and safety
Produce complete production documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Collaborate with Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Purchasing to support projects from concept through production
Support quoting, prototyping, testing, and product release activities
Resolve fabrication, assembly, and testing issues through hands-on troubleshooting and design updates
Perform incoming inspection support, validation testing, and participate in product approval processes
Initiate and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as needed
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, design standards, and manufacturing efficiency
Support and maintain CAD standards, templates, and libraries within SolidWorks and 3D Experience
Serve as a technical resource for CAD-related troubleshooting and support
Assist with onboarding and training of new engineering team members
Provide limited customer-facing technical support, including occasional site visits and installations (up to ~10% travel)
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience designing retail fixtures, POP displays, or related fields
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience designing for manufacturing, including sheet metal, tubing, wire, and plastic or aluminum extrusions
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks; experience with SolidWorks PDM or 3D Experience preferred
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience supporting product development through full lifecycle, including design, release, production support, and change management
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners
Continuous improvement mindset and strong problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience with SolidWorks PDM or 3D Experience
Experience using NetSuite is a plus
Spanish communication skills are a plus
