The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking a Seasonal Landscape position to support grounds maintenance activities. This role involves operating equipment, maintaining outdoor spaces, and assisting with preservation-focused landscaping practices.

Responsibilities

Safely operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment including mowers, trimmers, and other power and hand tools

Perform routine grounds care such as mowing, trimming, weeding, litter removal, and edging

Assist with landscape enhancement tasks including soil and compost installation

Maintain facility and site cleanliness, including garbage collection and gutter clearing

Support daily opening and closing procedures at assigned sites

Follow all safety guidelines and help maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment

Contribute to a collaborative, customer-focused workplace

Perform additional duties as needed to support grounds operations

Required

18 years of age or older at the time of hire

Valid Driver's License in good standing

Ability to perform physically demanding manual labor tasks

Skill in maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and team members

Preferred

Prior experience in landscape maintenance and turf management, including the operation of lawnmowers and trimmers

Proficiency in the identification of native and invasive flora

Familiarity with common grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers and trimmers
