ASSISTANT TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER
Caltrans District 3 is part of the Department of Water Resources, responsible for managing California's water resources. The Assistant Telecommunications Engineer will assist in the engineering, support, installation, maintenance, and operation of Wireless Network and Communication Systems, including two-way radio and fiber optic systems.

Assist in the engineering, support, installation, maintenance, and operation of the Wireless Network and Communication Systems
Engineering, installation, and support the following systems and networks: two-way radio, low voltage, and fiber optic systems, Microwave, Wireless, and packet-switched networks
Qualification
Required
Knowledge and experience in working in a team or group to solve problems
Design experience in Two-way Radio and Wireless Networks
Design experience in Microwave Communications Systems
Design experience in IP Networking
Experience in Operating and maintaining Two-way Radio
Experience in Operating and maintaining Wireless Networks
Experience in Operating and maintaining Microwave Communications Systems
Experience in Operating and maintaining IP Networking
Experience in reading and understanding engineering design drawings
Experience in creating engineering design drawings
Experience using CAD
Experience using MS Visio

Experience in conducting and documentation of Site Surveys
Experience in creating bill of materials and cost estimates
Training in signals and systems
