Responsibilities
Scheduling inspections for residential and commercial permits
Routing incoming calls to the proper inspector or department for further handling
Assigning plan review of residential home improvement projects
Responding to the public and contractors by telephone or by e-mail and occasionally in person regarding the permit process, imaged documents and other informational requests
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
One year of experience with a municipality, preferably within the Building Inspections department
One year of clerical, secretarial, or administrative experience
One year of computer experience including Word, Excel and Microsoft Windows
One year of customer service experience/working with the public
Preferred
Associate's degree in business or office administration or related field
Current Permit Technician Certification or certification within 9 months of employment
Microsoft Office Certification in Word and/or Excel
One year adobe acrobat experience
