Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for a multi-entity organization, translating business activity and strategy into decision-grade financial insight for executive leadership.

Responsibilities
Lead annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting, and rolling 13-week forecasting cycles
Build driver-based models for each business unit (Fund Mgmt, Lending, Servicing, Corporate)
Define and continuously refine key business drivers and assumptions
Develop consolidated 3-statement models integrating funds, corporate, and lending performance
Establish and maintain a KPI framework aligned with fund returns, platform efficiency, and capital utilization
Partner with Data Engineers and IT to automate dashboards in Power BI using Sage, Salesforce, ADP and TMO data
Analyze trends in AUM, origination volume, expenses, client base, delinquency, and other metrics
Own executive-level financial narratives
Translate variances into clear explanations and implications
Develop investor-grade performance materials for internal and external stakeholders
Challenge assumptions and reframe questions when needed
Build and mentor a high-performing FP&A team
Drive transition from Excel-based reporting to automated, data-driven forecasting platform
Prioritize enhancements, reporting needs, and scenario requirements
Partner with external FP&A platform provider for model evolution and reporting changes
Foster collaboration between Accounting, Lending Ops, and Servicing
Qualification
Required
10+ years of progressive FP&A, fund finance, or strategic finance experience
Strong accounting foundation; able to explain variances without over-modeling
Proven ability to partner with senior leadership and influence decisions
Advanced Excel modeling, Power BI proficiency required
Ability to work with a lean FP&A team
Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
Preferred
Background in PE-backed lending, real estate investment, or fintech preferred
MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred
