LHH is seeking an experienced Sr Project Accountant responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities and maintaining accurate project financials. The role involves handling financial transactions, contributing to close activities, and ensuring subcontractor compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

All general accounting including prepare journal entries, reconciling bank activity, supporting fixed asset tracking, and processing invoices from subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and equipment suppliers, applying the appropriate cost codes and verifying billing accuracy
Handle financial transactions and help with monthly forecasting
Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including WIP schedules, reconciliations, and audit support
Track and maintain subcontractor compliance documentation such as insurance certificates, tax forms, lien releases, and preliminary notices
Coordinate payment cycles, prepare disbursements, and communicate with subcontractors
Assist with updating cost codes, and generating job cost reports to support real-time financial tracking

Qualification

Accounting experienceMicrosoft ExcelTexturaConstruction industry experienceCommunication skillsCritical thinkingOrganizational skills

Required

3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Textura
Organized, attentive to details, with good communication skills able to work closely with vendors, and subcontractors
Good at critical thinking and ability to proactively resolve issues and manage priorities
