ASSOCIATE PROPERTY AUDITOR APPRAISER (BOARD OF EQUALIZATION)

Required
Under general direction of the Supervising Property Appraiser in the Assessment Services Unit, the Associate Property Auditor Appraiser researches the more complex property tax issues involving the taxation of business personal property and independently prepares written analyses of findings
Under direct supervision of the Supervising Property Appraiser in the Assessment Services Unit, the Assistant Property Auditor Appraiser researches the less complex property tax issues involving the taxation of business personal property and independently prepares written analyses of findings

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for full or part-time telework for eligible candidates residing in California
Currently, per the California Budget Act of 2025, all Board of Equalization salaries are subject to the provisions of the State of California's Personal Leave Program
Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods of time
Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone
Must be able to move/transport items weighing up to forty (40) pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

Interested candidates must meet educational requirements
Travel required fifteen (15%) percent of the time
Position requires employee to maintain a Board of Equalization (BOE) appraiser certification including continuing education
Proficient with Microsoft Office or equivalent programs
Ability to learn and apply property tax laws and rules
If education is required to meet the MQs please attach a copy of all of your transcripts that show the completion of the required education
Applicants who completed their education outside the United States (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of United States course/degree equivalency by the time of appointment
