Customer Service Intake Specialist

The Customer Service Intake Specialist will serve as a primary point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, coordinating services from intake through billing and ensuring timely support for patients' needs.

Responsibilities
Support patients and families with basic Durable Medical Equipment (DME), respiratory equipment, and select Activities of Daily Living (ADL) equipment
Communicate daily with insurance companies, physician offices, rehabilitation facilities, patients, and caregivers
Enter, process, and manage orders from intake through billing with speed and accuracy
Understand and apply insurance-specific guidelines across multiple contracted payers
Complete and verify all required documentation to ensure timely and accurate billing
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including handling phone calls while progressing active orders
Prioritize a high volume of patient needs in a fast-paced environment
Collaborate closely with other Blackburn’s departments, serving as a resource for questions and clarification
Go the extra mile for customers by researching options, locating vendor information, and helping patients understand pricing and coverage
