Responsibilities
Develop and maintain application software in support of medical device development
Create and maintain software requirements, ensuring clarity, traceability, and compliance
Develop, execute, and document software test cases and test runs
Perform software verification and validation activities aligned with regulatory expectations
Create and maintain software risk documentation, including design failure mode and effects analysis
Develop and maintain system models using SysML, including activity diagrams and use cases
Create and maintain traceability matrices linking requirements, tests, and risks
Utilize software lifecycle management tools for requirements and test documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design, development, and quality objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Four to eight years of experience in software engineering within a medical device research and development environment
Strong experience writing and maintaining software requirements
Hands-on experience with software verification and validation activities
Experience creating and maintaining software test cases, test runs, and traceability matrices
Familiarity with software risk management and design failure mode and effects analysis
Experience using SysML for system and software modeling
Ability to work onsite and be local to the Pleasanton, California area
Preferred
Experience working in a regulated medical device environment
Familiarity with tools used for requirements management and software testing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
