Technical Sales Engineer – Capital Equipment

LHH is partnering with a well-established industrial manufacturer seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to support growth across a diverse customer base. This role blends technical acumen with a consultative sales approach, serving as a key resource within the sales organization to help customers understand complex equipment offerings and manage a structured sales cycle.

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary technical contact for customers evaluating capital equipment solutions
Conduct product discussions, capability overviews, and application assessments in person and virtually
Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering groups, operations leaders, and project stakeholders
Identify opportunities, gather project specifications, and support the development of proposals and quotations
Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and commercial teams to ensure accurate and timely deliverables
Track ongoing opportunities, manage pipeline activity, and facilitate forward progress on long‑cycle industrial sales initiatives
Stay informed on regional activity, customer needs, and relevant industry trends
Support occasional on‑site evaluations, customer meetings, and equipment reviews

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technically oriented discipline preferred; equivalent experience also considered
Experience in technical sales, capital equipment, industrial systems, or engineered products
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Strong presentation, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills
Comfortable managing complex sales processes with multiple decision makers
Ability to travel regionally as needed to support customer engagement
Based in or willing to relocate to the Pittsburgh, PA area for a hybrid work schedule
