Day Field Coordinator
Gwinnett County Government is an award-winning employer that believes in investing in its employees. The Day Field Coordinator is responsible for supervising staff and overseeing day-to-day activities associated with the enforcement of animal ordinances, public relations, and care of animals.

Responsibilities
Prioritizing and assigning work, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment
Conducting performance evaluations and staff training; as well as, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
Preparing, approving, and maintaining incident reports, records, and activity logs of action taken
Overseeing the care, feeding, and disposal of animals following governing ordinances and federal and state laws
Managing basic animal care and control of contagious diseases within the facility
Completing and submitting paperwork while acting as a liaison for payroll, human resources, workers compensation and purchasing for the division
Ensuring all accidents are reported to the staff and appropriate forms are completed This includes all reports to the Georgia Department of Agriculture, Georgia Department of Human Health and Georgia Department of Natural Resources
Performing inspections of the facility, equipment, vehicles, and workstations for cleanliness, service, and proper usage
Acting as the liaison between the public, government, and business sectors when dealing with animal-related problems, and providing educational programs
Acting as the field training officer and completing and maintaining all necessary training documents for new road officers
Issuing citations and written warnings to violators
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, veterinary science, animal science, or a similar field
Two years of animal welfare or control, veterinary science, or animal science experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered
Valid driver's license
The following training/certifications are required to be completed within 6 months of employment: First Aid and CPR Certification
Preferred
Three years of progressive lead experience in animal welfare or control
The following training/certifications: First Aid and CPR Certification, ASP Baton Training, Basic Chemical Capture Training, Neglect & Cruelty Training, Rabies Training, Crematory Training, Euthanasia Training, Defensive Driving Certificate, Pre-exposure Rabies Vaccine or current titer
