Responsibilities
Serve as the senior day-to-day legal leader, advising on governance, regulatory risk, contracting, and strategic initiatives
Design, implement, and mature an enterprise compliance program aligned with federal and state healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and government program participation
Translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical, operational guidance for executive and operational leaders
Establish audit readiness, investigation protocols, escalation pathways, and defensible resolution processes
Partner with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and ownership to communicate enterprise risk and compliance posture
Lead, develop, and scale the legal and compliance function; oversee outside counsel and external advisors
Deliver concise, executive-level reporting on legal, compliance, and enterprise risk matters
Qualification
Required
10+ years of progressive legal leadership experience in highly regulated healthcare environments
Demonstrated experience advising senior executives and boards on complex legal, regulatory, and risk matters
Strong working knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks, compliance program design, and payer/government program dynamics
Experience operating across multi-state or multi-division healthcare organizations
Business-minded, pragmatic leader with sound judgment and executive presence
Preferred
Experience in behavioral health or similarly regulated healthcare services
