Senior Applications & Database Analyst
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum is an important cultural institution, and they are seeking a Senior Applications and Database Analyst to lead enterprise systems operations with a focus on Reporting and Ticketing applications. The role involves building and customizing reports, managing IT applications, and ensuring optimized performance of databases while collaborating with various stakeholders to meet business goals.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain reports mainly using platforms such as Pentaho, SSRS, and Power BI to address organizational day-to-day reporting needs
Manage the portfolio of IT Enterprise and reporting applications and Point of Sale (POS) systems, including Gateway Ticketing and Business Intelligence systems
Support and maintain high volume, high availability production databases
Administer and support existing databases while ensuring optimized performance, stability, monitoring, and uptime
Write scripts to automate various tasks that are currently performed manually by the Museum staff
Optimize database queries for reporting performance and accuracy
Manage/upgrade/install the POS systems in the Museum by working alongside the IT Applications team
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs and requirements that can be solved through process and technology
Provide production support for all enterprise applications and provide subject matter expertise on related business processes and functionalities
Create comprehensive documentation on reporting and enterprise systems and other technical guides (training, debug, install, etc.)
Administer Gateway eGalaxy webstores according to IT and Admissions requirements
Work with vendors in procuring, maintaining, upgrading, and modifying enterprise applications
Implement PCI and security compliances and disaster recovery and back-up procedures around enterprise platforms and applications by working with the server administration team members
Establish organization-wide operational procedures to ensure high stability and performance of enterprise applications
Qualification
Required
Position requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS or IT, or equivalent work experience
Deep knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with MySQL and/or SQL Server databases
Demonstrated experience working with Pentaho or other Business Intelligence platforms with understanding of ETLs and automated scheduled jobs
Hands-on experience with creating and managing SSRS and Power BI reports
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience working with enterprise applications (preferably ticketing systems) in a cultural, attraction, or similar environment
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
Ability to handle some of the database administrator responsibilities
Able to navigate and perform tasks in both Linux/Unix and Windows systems
Willingness to work non-traditional hours (weekend or late/early hours may be needed based on project timelines), think independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines
Ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Must have strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Professional certifications in relevant technologies are a plus
Experience with ticketing systems is preferred, particularly with Gateway Ticketing Systems
Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS. JS) is a plus
Experience working with NoSQL databases is a plus
Able to navigate and utilize cloud platforms effectively
Experience working with point-of-sale systems is an advantage
JIRA and other project management software skills preferred
