Responsibilities
Leading the safety, sustainability, and environmental compliance for the division
Maintaining compliance with all environmental programs (air, water, waste, radiation) including permitting and reporting
Managing an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
Managing the Radiation Safety program
Overseeing contractors
Conducting environmental projects
Tracking on-site waste generation, waste disposal, recycling, and energy use
Education and training of the Nucor team
Actively engaging with the plant wide team for solutions to problems
Promoting continuous improvement
Maintaining compliance with site SPCC plan
Perform disposal/recycling facility audits
Work with and build relationships with Environmental Regulators
Complete EPCRA/Form R regulatory reports
Interpret environmental regulations
Plan community outreach and education activities
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Environmental fields or Minimum 2 years' experience in an Engineering or Environmental related field
Preferred
Experience with implementation and maintenance of an ISO 14001 or equivalent EMS
Experience in air pollution, control operations, water treatment operations, hazardous waste or radiation safety
Experience in programs such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA regulations
Experience in environmental compliance in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience with Title V and or NPDES permitting
