Rootle Ambassador Program Coordinator

PBS North Carolina is dedicated to providing transformational experiences and trusted content to its community. The Program Coordinator will implement the statewide Rootle Ambassador Program, focusing on recruitment strategies, training materials, and community engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Implement PBS NC’s statewide Rootle Ambassador Program
Develop ambassador recruitment strategies
Create onboarding and training materials
Compile data
Develop a cohort model for cross-county collaboration
Curate multimedia educational resources from PBS KIDS, PBS LearningMedia, and other educational platforms for community-based Rootle Ambassador program delivery across North Carolina
Serve as the primary point of contact for partners and the Rootle Ambassador network
Work closely with the Engagement Program Manager, Director of Children’s Media & Education Engagement, and Engagement Specialists to ensure program alignment and impact

Required

Bachelor's degree in education, community development, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in community engagement, outreach, mentorship, training, or leadership development
Ability to manage a program in its entirety following established guidelines and standards, or administer multiple components of a complex program
Skilled in defining goals, tasks, deliverables, timelines, tools, and resources
Ability to develop and maintain program/project databases, schedules, and reports, ensuring accuracy of data and compliance with program standards
Ability to advise and collaborate with clients, program participants, and stakeholders to resolve complex issues
Ability to analyze business operations and/or financial data to support overall program administration
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships to enhance credibility, gain support, and reach consensus when explaining and interpreting program policies and procedures
Must have a valid driver's license
This position is a hybrid work arrangement and will work at least three days per week onsite at PBS North Carolina located in Research Triangle Park, NC
UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station

Preferred

Minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and implementation directly related to the duties and responsibilities of this role
Strong skills in data collection and budget management
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners
Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to embrace change, adapting strategies as needed
Proven ability to articulate and implement short-, mid-, and long-term goals
