Summer Internship – IT Audit Intern

InternKrispy Kreme is a beloved sweet treat brand headquartered in Charlotte, N.C. They are seeking an IT Audit Intern to support the audit and compliance team in evaluating and documenting IT controls and processes, providing hands-on exposure to IT risk management and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities
Gain exposure to IT risk management, internal controls, and governance frameworks such as SOX, ITGCs, COSO, and ISO 27001
Draft and track Provided-by-Client (PBC) requests and follow up with stakeholders to obtain required audit evidence
Assist in documenting and updating IT process narratives to reflect current-state processes and control activities
Participate in IT General Control (ITGC) walkthroughs with process owners, including notetaking, documentation, and audit evidence capture (e.g. screenshots, system configurations)
Perform testing of low risk IT General Controls, primarily related to: Security administration, Password controls, and user access provisioning and deprovisioning
Prepare audit populations and sampling workbooks, ensuring data completeness and accuracy
Set up and maintain audit test sheets and workpapers, documenting procedures performed, results, and conclusions
IT SOX Testing – Supporting the testing and documentation of IT controls relevant to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Issue Tracking & Remediation – Assisting with tracking control deficiencies and supporting remediation validation activities
Qualification
Required
Recent or current undergrad/grad students who have or will graduate between May 2025 - May 2027
Holds a recent degree or pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Systems, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Information Technology, Accounting, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or similar areas of study
Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc
Has intellectual curiosity, is passionate about learning, and ready to take on new opportunities
Strong communication skills (written & oral) with attention to detail
Ability to engage and work with cross-functional partners across the organization
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, shift priorities, and work under tight timelines
Ability to efficiently work in an office environment
