Seasonal Camp Counselor Crew Leader
NEOGOV is seeking a Seasonal Camp Counselor Crew Leader for the Town of Plainfield. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations at the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center, providing excellent customer service, and supervising part-time staff during shifts.

Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service and open communications with community members, guests, staff, and other affiliates
Provides direction and supervision to part-time recreation staff and operations during shift
Opens and/or closes recreation facilities depending on the shift for that day. Safety and security for the facilities and equipment are significant responsibilities
Conducts regular inspections of recreation areas for the purpose of documenting attendance, facility maintenance, and safety reports
Organize and maintain the inventory of designated recreation areas, organizational supplies, custodial supplies, and equipment
Make recommendations on the specifications for the purchase of new inventory and supplies as needed
Will be required to complete first aid and C.P.R. training to assist in first responder care as needed. Will also attend safety in-service training sessions to gain knowledge of Jeff Ellis and Associates Risk Management protocol. Cashiers will be responsible and primary contact for emergency phone conversations and information gathering during an emergency. Immediately reports any hazardous conditions to supervisor including inability to properly control crowd or access to facility due to weather or other conditions. Will maintain minimum number of in-service hours required by the department
Conducts a daily audit of prior daily transactions to ensure appropriate procedures are being followed by front desk staff members. Reports any errors or corrections to the Recreation Manager or Assistant Recreation Manager, in absence of Recreation Manager
Must be able to operate a computer, cash register, calculator and other office equipment for the daily operations and accounting transactions
Documentation: May assist with accident reports, program registrations and other operational reports and records. Will be responsible for daily cash reports and other revenue and data information gathering reports
Policy and Procedure: Follows all policies and procedures as described in the Town of Plainfield employee manual, state and local board of health guidelines for food service, state board of accounts rules and all other town and department protocols, policies and guidelines including those outlined by Ellis and Associates Risk Management standards and other affiliated organizational values and protocols. Will immediately report to supervisor any discrepancy in cash counting or reporting processes

Qualification
Required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Previous recreation and/or customer service experience is preferred
Computer software skills required include: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CivicRec
The ability to make sound and rational decisions including exercising independent judgment, within specified parameters is required
Must have a strong ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing regarding service information and public relations
The ability to interact with all levels of employees and guests
The ability to be detailed oriented to be able to process information accurately
The ability to enforce rules and follow all established protocols and guidelines is required
Ability to resolve conflicts between patrons, program participants and employees
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public is required
First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications through Ellis and Associates
Basic understanding of swimming, aquatic programming and water park amenities and operations
The ability to operate a computer, printer, copy machine, scanner, fax machine, and other office equipment is required
Must be proficient in cash handling, math, and organizational skills
Must remain current with all required licenses, certifications, and in-service requirements
Must demonstrate satisfactory performance ratings on all safety, operational and financial audits
The ability to speak, read and write in English is required
Must maintain a positive attitude and uphold PARKS values at all times
Preferred
Spanish is desired
A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is desired
