Responsibilities
Own cradle-to-grave quality management for assigned mass-production suppliers
Provide 24/7 supplier quality support and rapid issue resolution
Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions
Manage supplier performance, scorecards, audits, and improvement plans
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Plant Quality, NPI, Logistics, and suppliers
Support new product builds and transition to mass production
Lead and manage commodity SQEs, ensuring full plant quality coverage
Report supplier and team performance, risks, and KPIs to senior leadership
Travel 25–75% as required
Qualification
Required
8+ years of plant-floor SQE experience (exterior commodities: glass, plastics, stampings, closures, Class-A surfaces, assemblies)
3+ years of managing SQEs/technicians
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Strong hands-on experience with 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and supplier audits
Deep knowledge of automotive quality systems (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, GD&T, etc.)
Ability to read drawings and schematics
Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering
Certifications (ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt)
