Risk & Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

Developing and implementing strategies for all activities relating to one or more business units regarding compliant business conduct and ethical relationship standards
Overseeing development of relevant programs to ensure compliance and reduce risk
Providing advice and interpretation of Our Values In Action, including corporate policies and procedures to assigned business unit or units
Identifying potential risk and compliance vulnerabilities; developing corresponding corrective action plans for resolution of these issues and providing guidance for use in future situations

Required

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Risk Management, Business, Logistics or a related field
5+ years of progressively responsible job-related experience and ability to perform complex assignments
Knowledge of practices, behaviors, applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing proper business conduct
Ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations
Knowledge of techniques and processes for issues management and remediation
Ability to identify any error or fault, and correcting them in a timely manner
Knowledge of relationship management techniques
Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques
Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
Knowledge of processes involved in managing people
Ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace

Preferred

Trade compliance experience in an exports/customs environment
Strong understanding of Caterpillar's Ethics & Compliance Program, Our Values in Action, and the Enterprise Policies and Procedures
Strong background in risk management and compliance
Prior supervisory experience
