Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the structural design team in NYC, composed of a diverse group of engineers working on projects throughout the Northeast
Support leadership teams by recruiting new talent, developing existing staff, managing team utilization, and contributing to business and strategic planning efforts
Design and develop engineering plans and drawings, including preliminary layouts and final construction documents
Plan and oversee the production of engineering drawings, specifications, investigations, and planning work
Lead junior professionals and technical staff in the design and drafting of preliminary and final bridge plans
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project execution aligns with scope, budget, and schedule from concept through final design
Supervise and/or participate in quality control reviews, ensuring all work meets high standards by checking computations and reviewing designs and drawings
Assist in the development of project scopes, cost and manpower estimates, schedules, and budgets
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, supporting their professional growth and development
Qualification
Required
A degree in civil engineering
8+ years of bridge design and project management experience, including structural rehabilitation and replacement of highway and rail bridges
Management of people and projects
Effective communication through collaboration; written and oral
Preferred
A New York PE
Experience with NY Department of Transportation standards and project procedures
Proficiency with Bentley Open Bridge
Proficiency in Bentley Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D design software
