They are seeking a Senior Accountant to provide lead accounting support for corporate operations and shipyard locations, responsible for financial reporting, period-end close activities, and ongoing accounting support for project-based operations.

Responsibilities
Prepare and record period-end journal entries, including intercompany entries and allocations
Complete monthly percentage-of-completion entries and reconcile construction contract balance sheet accounts
Maintain and review balance sheet accruals, reserves, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity
Perform monthly profit and loss and balance sheet analysis and reporting
Support weekly cash forecasting activities
Assist financial analysts with quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
Support audit requests by providing timely, accurate documentation
Maintain proficiency with financial systems and support continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance consistency and efficiency across accounting operations
Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned
Adhere to all organizational, quality, and safety policies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of general ledger and accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting processes
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred
Experience with ERP systems such as BAAN, Epicor, or SAP
