Field Inspector - Rail & Transit
Parsons is a leading organization in critical infrastructure, and they are seeking a Field Inspector - Rail and Transit to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing field inspections, preparing reports, monitoring contractor activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards on a Rail and Transit project in Boston.

Responsibilities
Perform daily field inspections to confirm work meets approved plans and specifications
Prepare daily field reports summarizing progress, inspections, and issues
Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities for compliance with safety and quality standards
Communicate and help resolve site-related construction challenges promptly
Review the weekly schedule look aheads and be able to realistically estimate the activity durations
Support quality control by documenting non-conformances and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
Collaborate and coordinate with other field inspectors and managers
Be willing to work on day/night shifts and weekends as required by the construction schedule
Assist with tracking and updating logs for RFIs, NCRs, and other construction documentation
Be able to perform administrative duties under the direction of Construction Manager
Contribute to monthly progress reports and schedule look-aheads under guidance from the Construction Manager
Assisting the Construction Manager as required
The position require support during day/night shifts and frequent weekend shifts during the CM oversight of the project construction schedule
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience
5-7+ years of experience in field construction is required
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices
Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project
Software skills should include: MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Bluebeam, ProCore, Adobe Acrobat
Good Oral and Written communication abilities, will be writing and editing Meeting Minutes
Preferred
Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred
Amtrak experience is a plus
