Responsibilities

Oversee & optimize end-to-end certification operations including candidate application review, exam scheduling, results release, and recertification processing
Manage the full certification governance decision process including certificate issuance, suspension, withholding and withdrawal in accordance with program policies and requirements
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process documentation to ensure consistency and quality
Manage logistics for item writing, exam form review, and SME engagement, including contracting, scheduling, and communications
Initiate and process all financial transactions, ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), help manage contractor costs, implement program fee adjustments, and report on program trends
Serve as an internal liaison and point of contact with customer care for candidate inquiries, complaints, and appeals, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with accreditation requirements
Coordinate development and updates of customer-facing certification materials, including the candidate handbook, recertification guidelines, and ASME.org content
Generate and analyze operational and program performance reports in Learning Builder, Salesforce, and related systems
Coordinate annual audits and ongoing compliance activities to ensure adherence to ISO 17024 and NCCA standards
Oversee vendor relationships for certification platforms ensuring contract performance, data integrity, and service quality
Manage candidate communications and maintain the database of applicants and certificate holders
Research, evaluate, and support proposals for new accreditation or reaccreditation opportunities
Identify opportunities to improve candidate experience, streamline workflows, and enhance the efficiency, transparency, and scalability of certification operations
Develop and implement voice of customer processes to analyze inquiries from current customers regarding their certification experience

Required

Bachelor's degree or additional equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience managing certification or examination operations within a professional association, licensure, or testing environment
Proven track record of demonstrating knowledge, excellence and practical experience in communication – Oral and written presentation, including the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to work well with teams in diverse, complex, and changing environments
Ability to identify key issues, gather data to investigate those issues, and develop actionable recommendations
A detailed approach and ability to work independently and remain organized in order to meet commitments and balance competing priorities
Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 17024 or NCCA standards and audit/compliance processes
Experience with certification management platforms (Learning Builder preferred), CRM tools (Salesforce), and data reporting systems
