Responsibilities

Partner with the Loan Production Team to ensure loans are properly perfected across multiple jurisdictions while delivering a first-class client experience
Review, distribute, and occasionally prepare complex loan documents, including Loan Agreements, Mortgages, Deeds of Trust, and related legal instruments
Negotiate and finalize loan terms to align with credit approvals and internal requirements; draft ancillary documents such as Subordination Agreements and Corporate Resolutions
Prepare, review, and distribute other legal documents, including Loan Discharges, Assignments, Extensions, UCC filings, and additional signed instruments
Conduct title reviews to confirm first lien positions on all loans
Coordinate with Title Companies to ensure accurate recording, filing, and finalization of title policies
Collaborate with internal teams to meet tight deadlines and ensure smooth loan closings
Complete final review of all closing document packages
Draft and review ad hoc updates or enhancements to loan documentation as needed, escalating issues when appropriate
Review borrowing entity documents and confirm execution authority
Manage a high-volume workload independently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Support cross-departmental legal needs on an ad hoc basis

Required

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience
Licensed attorney in good standing with active bar admission in a U.S. jurisdiction; West Coast licensure preferred (Colorado a plus)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to execute with urgency and precision in a deadline-driven environment
Comfortable adopting and utilizing new technology
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Preferred

Candidates located in the Pacific Time Zone are strongly preferred
Experience closing complex real estate transactions in multiple jurisdictions strongly preferred
Proficiency reviewing title policies in connection with residential loan closings preferred
Familiarity with lender documentation and loan packages
General understanding of secured transactions and lien priority
