The role involves performing a variety of payroll, accounting, and administrative responsibilities, ensuring accurate payroll processing while maintaining compliance with labor regulations.

Responsibilities
Manage and audit daily timekeeping records in accordance with California wage-and-hour laws
Monitor missed punches, meal/rest break compliance, and timecard discrepancies
Work with managers to resolve timekeeping issues promptly
Maintain accurate digital and physical timekeeping documentation
Process Biweekly, Semi-Monthly, Monthly, and Bonus payrolls in accordance with CA wage-and-hour laws
Complete full Post-Payroll procedures, including reconciliations and audits
Prepare manual and off-cycle paychecks as needed
Prepare and submit payroll reports for month-end close and enter related journal entries
Reconcile monthly benefit invoices from insurance carrier
Maintain organized paper and electronic records following retention and confidentiality standards
Assist with additional administrative and department support as needed
Qualification
Required
Ability to follow detailed, multi-step payroll processes with a high level of accuracy and minimal errors
Maintains strict confidentiality of all payroll data and employee information
Excellent prioritization and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Accurate data entry skills and strong numerical aptitude
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Prior payroll processing or accounting experience
Experience with payroll platforms/systems
Working knowledge of CA wage-and-hour principles (or willingness to learn), including: Regular rate of pay, Overtime and double time, Meal/rest break premiums, Final wages, Paystub requirements
