Process Engineer

Responsibilities

Skilled in the operation of Injection Molding equipment. Established and sustain molding process and cycle time reductions on high cavitation / high volume single face and stack molds
Direct and trains the Process Technicians
Sample and test new molds and machines. Establish process using de-coupled, scientific molding techniques
Coordinates all process capability studies and D.O.E. sampling. Establish process control limits
Process Optimization through Scientific Molding
Skilled in CIM and SPC concepts
Maintain Job Management Files
Responsible for filling in when the tool shop supervisor is out of the plant
Troubleshoots and directs injection processes as needed by performs root cause analysis to determine what actions can be taken immediately and/or what appropriate personnel need to be called
Leads and participates in cross functional process improvement teams
Actively participates in daily team production meetings – communicates key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement
Participate in work instructions in the department to write, revise and train others to those instructions
Completes QRQC when assigned
Responsible for 5S environment in work area
Participates in tooling optimization and cost control/reduction activities
Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies
Accepts responsibility to comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF and any other regulatory requirements. And has the authority to report concerns that could impact these requirements or suggest areas for improvement

Required

2-4 year engineering degree preferred
Expertise in Injection Molding systems and techniques. Engineering skill level of process and tooling
Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates organizational skills and is very detail oriented
Professional with at least 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment specifically in a plastics injection environment
Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing and lifting
Ability to speak, read, and write English
Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-task environment
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
