NEOGOV is seeking a Court Case Manager 2 for the Prince of Wales Trial Court of the Alaska Court System. This role is responsible for case flow and courtroom management, including comprehensive case management, jury administration, and providing in-court support for proceedings.

Responsibilities

Provides comprehensive case management for all case types from filing through closure, including maintaining case records, tracking filings and judgments, processing post-judgment activity, and distributing court documents to authorized parties and agencies
Coordinates and schedules hearings with judicial officers and participants for in-person, telephonic, and video proceedings
Manages criminal case actions such as judgments, probation revocations, bail exonerations, and writs of execution, maintains accurate case data in CourtView, and ensures proper scanning and maintenance of files and reports
Serves as the primary public contact at the front counter and by telephone, delivering professional customer service in accordance with Alaska Court System standards
Accepts filings and payments for all case types, performs document intake and processing through OnBase, answers general inquiries, directs calls, and makes appropriate referrals
Assists the public with court forms, file reviews, document copies, marriage and commissioner applications, and notary services while ensuring accurate case filing and record management
Manages all aspects of jury administration for district and superior court, including requesting jury lists, summoning jurors, processing questionnaires, excusals, and deferrals, and maintaining accurate records in JuryView
Monitors jury trial schedules, prepares trial calendars and jury communications, and serves as the primary contact for juror inquiries by phone, mail, and in person
Prepares jury lists, attendance records, reports, and payment documentation, coordinates juror check-in and orientation on trial days, and communicates with jurors prior to trial
Processes orders to show cause for failure to appear
Processes all minor offense cases from opening through disposition, including data entry, preparation and distribution of court documents, hearing notices, and mandatory appearance files
Tracks, identifies, and transfers fines for state and city offenses, prepares and issues default judgment warning notices, and ensures cases are closed accurately and in a timely manner
Provides in-court support for all court proceedings with minimal supervision
Prepares daily calendars and case files, sets up and maintains the courtroom, operates electronic recording equipment, announces proceedings, administers oaths, and manages courtroom access and case flow
Maintains exhibits, tag reports, and jury materials, and assists with playback of the record as directed
Completes post-court processing including preparation and distribution of court orders, remand documents, notices, and other outcomes of proceedings
Ensures warrants, summonses, protective orders, and orders to show cause are issued, recalled, and distributed appropriately

Required

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college
Due to in-court clerk duties, a keyboarding test showing a net speed of 40 WPM is required
Post-secondary transcripts, if using education to meet minimum qualifications

Preferred

Experience providing excellent customer service, outstanding work habits regarding punctuality, dependability, organizational skills, and the ability to establish priorities
Ability to handle stressful and sometimes hostile situations with tact and diplomacy
Experience dealing with high-priority, confidential, or sensitive information
Experience in providing excellent customer service, both in person and over the telephone
Experience applying rules and regulations when processing documents
Experience performing data entry while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Experience performing multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and remaining calm, organized, and accurate
