Responsibilities

Implementing sourcing strategies, conducting RFIs/RFQs, and managing the parts/process qualification
Assist in researching, vetting, auditing and developing a network of qualified suppliers
Collaborate with engineering, planning, and quality departments to interpret engineering drawings, understand technical requirements, material specifications, and production timing for components and assemblies
Support new product introductions (NPI) by working cross-functionally to ensure sourcing plans and supplier readiness align with engineering and production milestones
Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to areas of production
Monitor and recommend modifications to existing quality or production work instructions, procedures, processes or documentation to achieve optimum quality
Work with representatives from all departments to address nonconformances
Assist in reviewing customer engineering and quality requirements
Assist in creation of PFMEA and DFMEA
Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities
Adhere to 5S Standards
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety
Other duties based on the needs of the Engineering department

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
3-7 years of applicable experience
Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools
Experience with machining and inspection equipment
Ability to read/interpret blueprints
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Excellent organizational and computer skills
CAD experience, Solidworks preferred
Knowledge of Aerospace Quality Standards (AS9100D, AS9102, AS9103/AS9145, AS9138, ISO9001, ANSI/ASQC Z1.4, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1)
Experience and strong knowledge of manufacturing practices with emphasis on machining, and assembly, and understanding of material and processes specifications and industry standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with all levels of employees
Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Able to use quality tools such as benchmarking, gap analysis, Pareto Analysis, fish-bone diagrams, risk analysis techniques, and process mapping for fact-based decision making
Customer oriented and service minded
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
