GE Vernova is seeking an Engineering Co-op intern to work on projects and assignments at their Erlanger Service Center. The role involves independent decision-making, continuous improvement efforts, and collaboration with operators and management to address quality defects and inefficiencies.

Responsibilities

Work on projects often requiring independent decision-making. These projects are typically scoped to last 2 - 6 months in duration but can last for as long as 2 years
Work with operators and management to determine root cause of quality defects and inefficiencies based on efficiency data and standards
Expected to work both in an office environment and a shop floor manufacturing environment
Lead or assist continuous improvement efforts
Maintain multiple projects in various departments
Develop graphic presentations using PowerPoint or similar programs, to communicate progress, share best practices, and provide updates
Perform assignments where trust and accuracy are required
May be asked to analyze data with Excel or various other analysis tools
May be asked to take on special projects that fall within the function the intern is studying. For example, may be asked to write software code if in an engineering internship or might be asked to perform compensation analysis if in a HR internship
May be asked to participate in early talent events, seminars, or trainings
Other duties as assigned

Required

Current enrollment in a degree program that will lead to a bachelor's degree, technical degree or equivalent in the function (or similar) in which the intern will work OR has a bachelor's degree or technical degree in the function (or similar) he or she is interning in
Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
Effective time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple priorities
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Preferred

At least 24 credit hours of coursework toward a bachelor's/technical (or equivalent) degree in the function you are interning or a recent graduate from a Bachelors/technical program in the function you are interning
In countries where applicable, a GPA of at least 3.0
Proficiency in Excel syntax and automation
Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines
Previous experience using independent thought processes to plan ahead, process information, maintain workflow and anticipate future needs of the team
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines
