Responsibilities

Lead service design initiatives on complex, real-world problems, mapping the end-to-end journey for both customers and employees
Translate systemic ambiguity into clear, actionable service strategies and blueprints
Plan and conduct deep generative research (interviews, ethnographic studies, co-design workshops) and turn complex insights into strategic roadmaps
Create service blueprints, ecosystem maps, and prototypes of high-level service concepts that hold up under organizational scrutiny
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, from frontline staff to executive leadership and technical teams
Advocate for holistic experiences while balancing business viability, operational feasibility, and technical constraints
Contribute to service standards and help raise the overall quality bar of how services are delivered across an organization
Mentor and support other designers as the team and our service design practice grows

Required

8+ years of hands-on experience in service design, design strategy, or a related field, working on multi-touchpoint systems
A strong portfolio showing systemic thinking, service blueprints, and evidence of how your work influenced organizational change
Experience designing for complex environments, such as large-scale public sector initiatives, healthcare systems, or enterprise transformations
Confidence facilitating workshops with diverse stakeholders and navigating complex institutional hierarchies to drive consensus
A systems-thinking approach—you care about how the 'backstage' processes enable the 'frontstage' experience
Comfort working remotely with distributed teams and managing asynchronous collaboration effectively
Clear communication skills—the ability to tell a compelling story about the value of service design to non-designers

Preferred

Experience with SaaS or digital transformation within legacy industries
Expertise in inclusive design and accessibility within public services
Knowledge of change management or organizational design
Experience coaching or mentoring teams through a design thinking transition
