PUBLIC UTILITY ANALYST I - 61000038
The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) is dedicated to ensuring that Florida's consumers receive essential services safely and reliably. The Public Utility Analyst I will conduct comprehensive reviews of utility-related data and perform independent analyses of utility filings, requiring technical and analytical skills to communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive reviews of data used to prepare utility filings and perform independent analysis of the utility documents supporting the filing
Compile, analyze, and verify data and communicate the results in writing
Engage in technical, analytical work involving complex regulatory filings such as recovery clauses, staff-assisted rate cases and other utility rate-setting proceedings
Qualification
Required
Four years of relevant work experience in the area of business administration, economics, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics or public administration is required
An associate degree and two years of relevant work experience OR a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for the years of required experience
Information verifying answers to the Qualifying Questions must be found on the Employment Application
Background investigations, including criminal history record checks and education verifications, will be conducted on all applicants recommended for hiring
You may be required to provide your Social Security Number in order to conduct this background check
Federal law requires all employers to verify the identity and employment eligibility of all persons hired to work in the United States
The Florida Public Service Commission participates in the Department of Homeland Security's Electronic Employment Verification Program (E-Verify) to assist in this required verification process
Civil Service Law requires all males born after December 31, 1959, to register with the Selective Service System unless they meet certain exemptions under the law
Preference in appointment and employment shall be given to veterans and other persons as required by Chapter 295, Florida Statutes, Veterans' Law
Applicant must provide the required proof of preference at the time of submitting an application

Preferred
Special consideration will be given to applicants who are Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), Certified Internal Auditors (CIAs), and those applicants with the ability to review, analyze, and evaluate data and present their conclusions in writing
