$18/hr - $18/hrSunrise Systems, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Assistant to support tax-related processing and Power of Attorney documentation. This hybrid role primarily works remotely but requires occasional onsite presence to process mail, and the ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities
Process AZ Forms 285 and 290, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Prepare and submit Power of Attorney (POA) and Penalty Abatement forms for data entry
Organize and securely store documentation from paper, email, and fax
Research and resolve POA and prescreening issues
Act as a point of contact for taxpayer inquiries related to forms and cases
Provide Tier 1 customer support and escalate complex cases as needed
Assist with routing emails in the AZTaxhelp delegated mailbox
Apply statutes, laws, and procedures related to filing requirements, penalties, and interest
Perform mathematical calculations for tax, penalty, and interest assessments
Support mail processing and other administrative duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office, especially Excel/Sheets and Gmail
Strong research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills with proven problem-solving ability
Understanding of accounting and mathematical principles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle calls professionally and provide customer support
Skilled at multitasking and working independently or within a team
Computer savvy with experience using spreadsheets and data systems
10-Key experience required
Preferred
Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
Coursework in accounting, business, or a related field is highly desirable
Spanish speaking is a plus
