Workers' Compensation Specialist
Confidential Jobs is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Specialist to manage and administer the company’s workers’ compensation program. This role involves ensuring compliance with federal and California state regulations while coordinating the employee injury process and supporting return-to-work efforts.

Responsibilities
Manage workers’ compensation claims from initial incident reporting through resolution, ensuring timely submission and documentation
Ensure full compliance with California workers’ compensation laws, OSHA reporting requirements, and internal company policies
Serve as the main point of contact between the company, employees, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, medical providers, and legal representatives
Review incident reports, gather statements, and support investigations to determine compensability
Maintain organized and confidential claims files, documentation, and system entries
Monitor claim progress, medical status, benefit payments, and litigation activity when applicable; engage in settlement negotiations and make recommendations
Coordinate and track return-to-work and light-duty programs in partnership with supervisors and Human Resources
Prepare regular reporting for leadership on claims status, trends, costs, and risk exposure
Assist with safety initiatives by identifying trends, participating in injury prevention discussions, and manage wellness programs
Support internal and external audits, including insurance carrier and regulatory reviews; assess third-party performance and schedule case reviews
Manage workers’ compensation processes, policies, and related communication practices; maintain knowledge of relevant and current legislation
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing workers' compensation claims or working in a risk/insurance-related role
Strong working knowledge of California workers' compensation regulations and claims processes
Experience collaborating with third-party administrators and insurance carriers
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with employees and stakeholders
Strong organizational, analytical, and record-keeping abilities with high attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HR or claims management systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field
Transportation experience
Must be bilingual (Spanish)
