Responsibilities
Manage and mentor QA engineers
Balance planning and executing test strategies
Create and maintain robust test suites
Prepare releases and perform root cause analysis when defects occur
Collaborate closely with the Director of Development
Identify inefficiencies and improve quality systems
Collaborate with managers, developers, and the product team to improve quality standards
Plan and prioritize both manual and automated tests
Triage bugs and manage QA workload
Write automated tests to ensure functionality
Train new developers on QA processes
Review code quality and test coverage
Document QA best practices and guidelines
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in QA engineering, SDET, or software development
Experience leading QA efforts and working hands-on with automated tests
Ability to balance planning and executing test strategies
Experience creating and maintaining robust test suites
Experience preparing releases and performing root cause analysis when defects occur
Hands-on leadership skills to manage and mentor QA engineers
Ability to operate autonomously while collaborating closely with the Director of Development
Technical proficiency to go deep technically when needed
Ability to translate issues into clear actions for both QA and engineering teams
Skill in identifying inefficiencies and solving hard problems
Understanding of high-quality software development principles
Excitement to collaborate with managers, developers, and the product team
Detail-oriented and proactive approach to work
Desire to continually learn and improve QA skills
