Audio Visual Systems Engineer

Auburn University is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Audio Visual (AV) Systems Engineer to join their team. This role is primarily responsible for the design and implementation of advanced audio visual systems across campus facilities, collaborating with architects, designers, and end users to deliver innovative AV solutions.

Responsibilities

Design and develop comprehensive AV systems for new construction and renovation projects
Work closely with architects, designers, and university stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver tailored AV solutions
Specify power, data pathways, and mechanical/structural requirements on blueprints, ensuring infrastructure readiness for AV deployment
Create building-wide AV designs that integrate with campus technology standards
Generate accurate budget and equipment estimates for AV system designs and installations
Generate detailed configuration documents for AV projects to support smooth implementation and long-term maintenance
Create system schematics that clearly illustrate AV system architecture, ensuring effective communication among project teams and facilitating future troubleshooting or upgrades
Provide hands-on support for AV system installations and troubleshooting as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree and 3 years relevant experience OR
Associate's degree and 7 years relevant experience OR
High School/GED and 11 years relevant experience
Bachelor's degree and 6 years relevant experience for Sr. Audio Visual Systems Engineer
Experience in advanced audio visual systems, infrastructure, operating systems, and applications to include functional experience in the architecture, design, and development of AV
Solid understanding of networking and IP fundamentals as they relate to AV system integration
Ability to interpret and specify requirements on architectural blueprints
Excellent communication and collaborative skills for working with a variety of stakeholders
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred

Experience with AV control and switching systems, including AMX, SVSi, Biamp, Extron, or similar platforms
Familiarity with AMX control system coding is preferred but not required
