Director of Admission
NEOGOV is seeking a Director of Admission for Hampton University, responsible for strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Office of Admission. The role involves developing data-informed recruitment strategies to enhance diversity and student success while managing the admission process and fostering partnerships with various organizations.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year enrollment strategy aligned with institutional goals and values
Provide leadership, supervision, and professional development for the Admission staff team
Cultivate an inclusive, student-centered culture that reflects the mission and legacy of HBCUs
Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to strengthen recruitment pipelines and student success initiatives
Design and implement targeted recruitment initiatives to attract a diverse pool of students, including underrepresented populations, first-generation students, and non-traditional learners
Represent the university at regional, national, and virtual college fairs, community events, and high school visits
Oversee the development of marketing materials, digital campaigns, and communication plans that highlight the distinctive value of the HBCU experience
Manage all aspects of the admission process—application review, decision-making, and communication with prospective students and families
Ensure timely, accurate, and ethical evaluation of applications consistent with institutional policies, NACAC (National Association of College Admission Counselors) and AACRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) standards
Oversee admission data collection, reporting, and trend analysis to inform decision-making and improve efficiency
Collaborate with Financial Aid, Registrar, Academic Affairs, and Institutional Research offices to support seamless enrollment and retention processes
Build and maintain partnerships with high schools, community colleges, community-based organizations, and alumni to strengthen pipelines and recruitment networks
Serve as an ambassador of the university’s mission and core values in public and professional engagements
Participate in professional organizations and conferences to advance institutional visibility and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, Counseling, Communications, or related field
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in college admissions, enrollment management, or related area
Demonstrated leadership experience supervising and developing professional staff
Strong communication, data analysis, and project management skills
Commitment to the values, mission, and cultural significance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities
Preferred
Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Business, or related field
Experience with CRM and integrated student information systems (e.g., Slate, Banner, Jenzabar, Salesforce)
Proven success in developing recruitment strategies that improve yield and diversity
Knowledge of retention and student success strategies for underrepresented student populations
