Responsibilities

Provides training and guidance to attorneys, OPS personnel within the Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Legal Unit
Litigates enforcement actions
Evaluates investigative reports and evidence
Drafts and issues subpoenas
Negotiates settlements
Drafts pleadings, complaints, motions, notices, and orders
Compiles exhibits
Witness preparation
Takes and defends depositions
Initiates and responds to discovery
Prosecutes and defends enforcement cases and rule challenges before the Division of Administrative Hearings
Prosecutes and defends final orders, emergency suspension orders, declaratory statements, rule waivers, and various cases in circuit courts
Files and answers foreclosure cases
Files claims and intervenes in bankruptcy proceedings and federal actions as requested by the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco
Drafts, reviews, edits, and evaluates proposed rule packages
Responds to Joint Administrative Procedures Committee correspondence
Implements agency policy
Responds to consumer inquiries in writing and verbally

Required

Membership in good standing with The Florida Bar
At least two years of experience in the practice of law
Valid Driver's License

Preferred

Knowledge of Chapters 120, 210, 561-565 Florida Statutes
