Director, MFG Operations (Lenses)

Responsibilities

Direct and monitor all aspects of production and process engineering managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing areas, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures
Develop and implement long-term strategies for Manufacturing Operations, aligned with local and global organizational goals to achieve excellence
Provide guidance to create and manage annual budget
Liaison between department staff (DL/IDL), as well as executive/department manager levels to inform employees of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, behaviors and results
Collaborate cross-functionally and in partnership with Human Resources conduct/implement strategies to include, but not limited to, staff augmentation, training, performance evaluations, while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations
Responsible for achieving optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan, through strategic planning and execution of initiatives
Partner with company officers and senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives
Lead the OEE performance by identifying , recommending and implementing changes to improve productivity and reduce cost, scrap and rework data
Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data
Responsible for developing strategic plans to establish, implement and maintain production standards
Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, etc.)
Identify opportunities, develop action plans and coach team on continuous improvement projects
Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
5+ years of management/leadership experience
Experience leading teams in a fast paced MFG environment, in a manner that drives teamwork, collaboration and a high degree of integrity
Superior problem solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative)
Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills (written and verbal)
Demonstrated passion for solving problems and operational excellence
Focused, organized, results-oriented individual
Successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, able to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment

Preferred

Master's Degree preferred
Lean Six Sigma Champion or Black Belt certification
Bilingual – English/Spanish/Italian
