Software Upgrade & Release Engineer (VDM/VLS & V‑MAP Program)
GlobalPoint is seeking a highly capable Software Upgrade & Release Engineer to support end-to-end upgrade execution for Vision Developer (VDM) and Vision Learning Station (VLS). The role involves managing upgrade cycles across development and production environments while coordinating with various teams and ensuring compliance with U.S. Export Control regulations.

Responsibilities
Plan and execute VDM/VLS upgrades across Dev and Prod environments (up to four cycles)
Install and configure ColdFusion/Lucee updates per vendor specifications
Coordinate with GVH IT PM, DBAs, patching/infra teams, vendor support (Focus Learning), and security teams
Prepare SIT and UAT scripts; execute SIT; support UAT issue resolution
Develop upgrade plans, rollback strategies, configuration documents, and go-live runbooks
Raise and manage ServiceNow tickets for DBA and Prod change approvals
Provide 14-day hypercare support post-production upgrade
Ensure all activities comply with GE Vernova processes and U.S. Export Control access requirements
Qualification
Required
5+ years experience installing and upgrading software on Windows Server environments
Strong understanding of application servers, database connectivity, and environment configuration
Hands‑on experience in release management, patching, SIT/UAT processes, and documentation
Ability to work with cross‑functional teams (IT, DBA, vendor, security)
Must meet U.S. Export Control 10 CFR 810 access eligibility requirements
Preferred
Experience with Vision Developer / Vision Learning Station (VDM/VLS) or similar training/learning platforms
Familiarity with Oracle databases, Citrix‑hosted applications, and infrastructure change management
Knowledge of GE Vernova processes, ServiceNow workflows, and cybersecurity reviews
Experience supporting globally distributed teams
